Having both a French and Italian heritage, I grew up in Lille in the north of France where I was surrounded by antiquities. Throughout my childhood I witnessed my family's passion for repairing, refurbishing and re-guilding works of art. It was a magical experience seeing an old object brought back to life, whether a painting, a picture frame, or simply an old chair forgotten in someone's attic. Soon I was helping my grandfather repair antiques and as I grew up, art became an ever more important part of my life.
Ten years ago I moved to Florence, Italy, a world center for the restoration of art to perfect my skills as a restorer and was privileged to work on paintings from the Uffizi Gallery. After my relocation to the United States, I became interested in design, specifically to marry the past with the present - to bring these two worlds together in a harmonious context. The force and energy of modernism seen side by side with objects that have a history, whether from our immediate past or from centuries past.
Each of us has a history that shapes our tastes, our longings and our sense of style. To recreate this in a home and bring to life that unique character is what I strive to do for each of my clients.
